When I started the 6 month program, my top three goals were to lose weight, eat healthier and workout more. Throughout the program, Brianne helped educate me on what I am putting in my body, and took the focus away from the number on the scale, and instead focused on other life events/day to day life to see how that was affecting me. Brianne is AWESOME. She isn’t pushy, and makes you come to realizations based on what you are saying. I couldn’t have gotten here without you! I will forever be thankful and grateful for the time you spent with me and the things that you have done for me!

Ten years ago had you told me I’d be here, at this place in my life, with so many accomplishments under my belt and a life I am immensely proud of- I certainly wouldn’t have believed you. To say my healing journey has been an easy one would be a far-fetched lie, as it has been a crazy ride full of some ups and many downs.
.
There hasn’t really been a year where I’ve hit my birthday and thought “I feel really good with where I’m at and where I’m headed”- until this one. 🙏🏻 I’m not sure what’s sparked the change... maybe it’s my focus on personal growth, my mindfulness/meditation practice, or my overall feelings of gratitude. Or maybe it really is just this ‘getting older and wiser’ thing 🤔💕
.
Truth be told, whatever it is- I’m extremely grateful to be feeling as content and happy in my life as I am right now. I’m excited to see where I go from here, and to continue following my passion of helping women feel supported, loved, inspired and motivated as they set out to achieve everything they have ever dreamed of 🙏🏻
.
So, to celebrate the big 2️⃣7️⃣, I’m sharing with you babes 27 things I’ve learned in this life so far:
.
1. Happiness shouldn’t be (and frankly isn’t) a result of achieving something, getting something, becoming something, etc. Happiness is a state of being that we have to learn to create, no matter the obstacles and no matter the situation.
.
2. Beliefs are thoughts, thought habitually.
.
3. Healthy food can taste delicious. If you think it can’t, you haven’t tried hard enough.
.
4. Excuses will always be there.
.
5. A good morning routine can completely change the flow of your day.
.
6. Small acts of kindness go a long way.
.
7. Treat others as you wish to be treated.
.
8. Life’s too short to have a job you hate.
.
9. If your partner doesn’t treat you with respect, doesn’t make you laugh everyday, and doesn’t show you how much they love you everyday- you are with the wrong person.

  • In 2016 when I competed in Miss Universe Canada for the second time, I was on an extremely strict meal plan for six months. 😕 Hitting the stage in June that year, I felt everything I had anticipated feeling- Strong. Happy. Proud. Fit. Lean. Capable. Determined.... the list goes on and on. But then the competition ended. And what came next I certainly wasn’t expecting.
.
The months that followed the competition were part of the hardest mental battle I have ever faced. I remember leaving the competition grounds that evening and hubby taking me (as per my request... okay, demand 🙈) to a corner store where I bought a bag FULL of chocolate and chips. For the next week, I proceeded to binge hard. I mean, I was no longer in competition mode, and I was SO strict for so long... I deserved that break- didn’t I?
.
Following that week of binging went a repetitive cycle where I’d force myself to eat as per the guidelines of that ‘plan’ feeling low, restricted and unhappy. Then, whenever I’d ‘slip up’ and eat something that wasn’t on said plan... I’d immediately guilt trip myself and it would start all over again. 🙄😞
.
Sound familiar? 🤔😕 Sigh.
.
I don’t know what it is about eating healthy that got so dam complicated or when exactly it happened- but at some point, we lost the ability to listen to our bodies and understand what’s good for each of us as individuals. We’ve all heard SOMEONE excitedly share the new diet they are on and how they lost __________ amount of weight or that it cured __________ symptom. 🤪 But did you ever wonder why some diets are so successful for some people, yet don’t work at all for others? 🤨🤔
.
We are all built SO uniquely and beautifully different- and that means that our bodies require very different things! The saying that ‘one persons preference is another persons poison’ is so true... and we really have to take a step away from this diet trend, and instead learn to listen to the messages our bodies are sending us. 🙏🏻
.
We have to understand that being on a ‘diet’ or adhering to some form of restrictive eating doesn’t equate to being healthy.

Now, I am a huge fan of finding and/or creating recipes that can replace my favourite not-so-healthy foods. But, I have strict criteria they must meet in order to be classified as a ‘win’. For instance, they must:
➡️ Be completely guilt-free (aka HEALTHY)
➡️ Be an actual replacement (so something that actually looks like what it is supposed to)
➡️ Be easy to make
➡️ And of course, taste freaking delicious 🙌🏻
